So long June and July...

Well... June was a bit of a rough month for us so we are happy that July is here (and almost over). I have never been as tired as I was in the month of June. Something was always going on and without the strength and support of Steve, our family and friends, there is no way I would have made it. We had some wonderful things to celebrate in June. We had a wonderful day celebrating my dad and Steve on father's day... 2 amazing daddies. Steve and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary with ordering pizza and celebrating with our girls. Reese completed her first set of swim lessons...the kid is fearless and loves to swim. I had planned to take Caroline to Peyton's dance recital and have a girls day out with her but our plans suddenly changed with Allie woke up with a fever. Steve went ahead and took Caroline to the recital, we dropped Reese off at my parents house and I took Allie to the doctor. To make a very long story short, the pediatrician sent Allie and I over to Children's hospital because her fever was so high and she felt so puny. Fevers in babies less than 3 months old is not a good thing. We went to the ER where they hooked her up to an IV, drew lots of blood and took a sample of her spinal fluid from her back to test for Menagitias. Her culture for viral Menagitias came back positive (bacterial-negative, thank goodness) so we were admitted. We spent the night with sweet Allie and stayed by her side non-stop. She did great and was back to her happy self very quickly. Steve and I were a wreck but thankfully it was easily fixable and we knew she was going to be just fine. We cannot thank Chelsee and Lauren enough for hanging with Caroline during the recital so Steve could come meet me at the hospital. Chelsee kept Caroline all day and took her to get lunch, play and swim. We have the best friends! AND of course my mom, dad and Ben for keeping Reese and Caroline for a couple days. We got to take Allie home... she was so glad to be back in her bed. Well... a couple days later Reese and Caroline both got it so they were out of commission for a few days. We had to quarantine Allie so the sick kiddos went to my parents house for 24 hrs. before they could come back home. Lauren and Adam brought us dinner one night and Laney entertained Caroline a few afternoons... what would we do without our friends and family?

Sadly, we also had to say goodbye to our unforgettable Logan. Steve and I got Logan in May of 2002 when we moved down to San Marcos to go to college. We got Logan when he was 5 weeks old. He has moved with us 5 times and welcomed 3 kiddos into our family. He was so gentle and loving to everyone and could not have been more sweet to the girls. Logan loved people, he wanted to swim everyday (he practically did even in February), he is irreplaceable. Our hearts feel heavy every time we go outside and play or swim but we know that Logan is not in any pain now and that makes it a bit better. Steve and I loved that dog and all of his quirks (he was scared of trash cans, any type of flapping or blowing objects, loved to sit on the top set of the pool and would sit in your lap if you let him). We are so lucky to have had Logan and love that our girls loved him too.

Alright, enough of all that. The kiddos are as busy as ever. Caroline and Reese went to summer camp at First United. Caroline loved every minute of it. Reese loved it on her last day there. It was her first time to be dropped off without me, with a total stranger and kids she didn't know. She survived. Caroline also completed ballet camp and had a blast. Caroline got to go to Kaboom town with Bryce and watch fireworks. Caroline ended her t-ball season. She was super excited to get a trophy. She is a natural at t-ball. Nana came into town and got to come to a game... so fun! The girls love when Nana comes in town to play and it sure helps me out alot. Come back soon, Nana!!

Allie had her 2 month check up and she weighs a whopping 12 pounds (90th percentile). She is starting to sleep longer stretches at night and is a happy happy girl. She is completely loved by her 2 big sisters.

People tell me all the time that Reese has the best facial expressions. I am with her all the time so I really didn't notice that she does make ALOT of funny and sweet faces. She truly is one of the funniest kids I know.

People ask me all the time, "Does Allie look like Caroline or Reese?" I will let you decide.

Caroline- 2 months old

Reese- 2 Months old

Allie- 2 Months old

If you are reading this, I can't believe you made it this far :0) We are very anxious to start August and get ready to head back to school, start planning Caroline's Fancy Nancy birthday party and start packing for our trip to Gulf Shores. Bring on some FUN!!

  1. Kyle and I are so sorry to hear about Logan! What a good dog.

We had the same scare with Addie that yall had with Allie! That is just the worst. So glad to hear she's fine. When that happens you really realize that nothing else matters. Good health is so easy to take for granted! Cheers to August!
