Well... besides Reese joining our family we have celebrated Thanksgiving, took Caroline to Disney on Ice, made gingerbread houses and decorated for Christmas. We had a wonderful very low key Thanksgiving with my parents and brother at our house. My mom cooked an amazing dinner and we kicked back and watched the Cowboys game. Friday night my parents came back over and watched Reese so we could take Caroline to dinner and to Disney on Ice. What an unforgettable and priceless night... Caroline had an absolute blast. She got to pick out a LIttle Mermaid doll, had cotton candy, lemonade, popcorn and got a flounder hat. We had front row center of the ice tickets, PERFECT evening! My mom even stayed that night and spent the entire night hanging out with Reese so Steve and I could get a full nights sleep... talk about an awesome mom!
Last Saturday night we went out to dinner and then went shopping at Home Goods. I suddenly got very tired and didn't feel quite right so we headed home... I should have known that I was going to go into labor that night. I went to bed that night and woke up at about 2AM to my water breaking. We hung around the house for a while and finally got to the hospital around 8AM (I had to make sure everything was somewhat in order since we did not expect Reese to come three weeks early). I was immediately admitted and the process got started. I had a perfect labor and Reese arrived at 4:05 PM weighing in at 6 pounds and 18 1/4 inches. She was having a few little respiratory issues right at first due to her arriving a little early. She was in the NICU for about 7 hours being closely monitored but was back with us around midnight. Caroline was amazing with Reese, she is the absolute sweetest girl. Reese gave Caroline a baby doll. a play diaper bag filled with goodies and a baby bed. Caroline was so excited and was kissing Reese all over. If you don't know, Caroline is obsessed with her silky pink blanket so of course that is what Caroline gave her baby sister (a new blanket of course) Reese is an absolute perfect baby and such a blessing to our little family. I can't wait for you all to meet her,
We have about three weeks left until Reese arrives... I went to the doctor today and everything is looking good. She weighs a little over 6 pounds and was moving all over the place. I had an ultrasound to check on growth and Reese was hamming it up for the camera. She was yawning, blinking her eyes and you could even see her little nostrils flaring. Amazing! I am 1 cm dilated which really means nothing but it's at least improvement from last week. Now, it's just a waiting game. Here is a picture of me at 36 weeks. I'll keep everyone posted....
Halloween is FINALLY here... I feel like we have been preparing for this night for two months! Caroline was SO excited she could barely take her nap. She was dressed and ready to go by 5:00 but we had not yet carved our pumpkin so I made her at least take her dress and hat off. Caroline got to decide what shapes she wanted to carve on our pumpkin... very simple! We had a blast trick or treating with Caroline's friends across the street. We are so lucky to have so many kids in our neighborhood. Caroline had no problem walking right up to each house and getting her candy. Our last stop was of course Great Grandma and Great Grandpas house... We had such a fun night! I know... I am a giant bee. Caroline wanted me to dress up as a bee this year so that's exactly what I did. It's the small things that make your kids happy!
Well...the life in the Loeffler family is pretty amazing!! Stephen and I have been married for 6 years. We have an absolutely perfect daughter, Caroline. She is the funniest, smartest and cutest little girl we have ever laid eyes on and the good thing is we have THREE of the sweetest and cutest little girls now. Reese joined our family in November of 2011 and Allie in May 2013. and we could not be happier. We truly have a perfect little family!
